Lush Mother's Day/Easter Haul!

Since my feelings towards Lush are no secret I received more than a few bath bombs and bubble bars over the Christmas period, meaning I've managed to keep myself away from Lush for a few months (with the exception of a Unicorn's Horn bubble bar from their Valentine's Collection because come on that was beautiful). That was until I saw their Mother Day and Easter collections and couldn't resist.

My mum asked me for The Comforter for Mother's Day and since I knew I wouldn't be heading into Lush before then I decided to order it online, along with a few other things for her, to create a sort of personalised gift set, and a few things I'd had my eye on.

There will be reviews of the ones for me up as and when I use them I'm sure but for now here is a list of what I bought for my mum and for myself.

For my mum:

The Comforter (bubble bar)  *click here to see my post on The Comforter*
Rose (bubble bar)
Rose Bombshell (bath bomb)
Secret Garden (bath bomb)

For me:

Bunch of Carrots (reusable bubble bars)
Ultraviolet (bubble bar)
Fluffy Egg (bath bomb)
Hoppity Poppity (bath bomb)

What did you get your mum for Mother's Day? Have you tried any of these Lush products? Let me know what you thought of them below!

Lush Christmas Haul!

After gazing at these beauties on the Lush website and in other people's hauls for a few weeks, I decided a trip to Lush could be put off no longer. It is no secret that Lush is my ultimate weakness and while I wanted to buy everything in the new Christmas and Halloween range, I limited myself to these three.

The Magic Wand Bubble Bar on the far left of the picture has famous 'Snow Fairy' scent that a few of the Lush Christmas products have. It is a very sweet scent so probably isn't for everyone but I absolutely love it. I actually used this once before I remembered to take photos so it does look a little worn but, as you can see, one use hardly affected the size of it at all so I'm pretty confident you'd get a good few baths out of this one.

The Candy Mountain Bubble Bar in the middle of the photo has my favourite scent from Lush, the Creamy Candy scent. Like Snow Fairy it is more of a sweet scent but it's a little more toned down. I've not used this one yet but I've heard it not only creates bubbles but also turns your bath water pink and glittery, what more could you ask for?

Lastly we have The Sparkler Bath Bomb. This is part of their Halloween/Bonfire Night collection and I've been told it has different colours inside which is exciting! I was intrigued by this one when I saw it online because it's so different from all of the other Lush bath bombs but what really pulled me in was the smell. This one shares the Rose Jam scent which is just beautiful. If you like the smell of roses, I really would suggest picking this one up and having a sniff!

I'm sure this won't be the last of my purchases from the Lush Christmas range as there honestly was so much I could have happily bought.

Have you tried any of the new products from the Christmas range at Lush? Which ones and what did you think of them? Let me know in the comments.

R&B Hair Moisturiser from Lush

Yet again I'm here to talk to you about a product from Lush that I've fallen in love with. It is no secret that I love Lush Cosmetics, every product I've ever tried from them I have absolutely loved and I've tried a fair few! I went into the store to buy a solid shampoo bar and came out with this in hand as well after it was recommended to me by one of the girls working there. It's not one of the cheaper products Lush offer and I'll admit, I was a little reluctant to try it because of the price but it really does work wonders.

The girl in the store said she uses this on damp hair but I've found it works best on mine when dry so it must differ between different hair types. I have very dry hair that has a tendency to frizz and tries to curl but just doesn't so if that sounds like your hair, please, just trust me and try this.

I take a tiny bit (I mean tiny, a little goes a lot further than you initially think and any more will look like too much) and rub it between my fingers and then gently brush my fingers through the lengths and ends of my hair. I don't know how this magic stuff manages to do it, but it seems to get rid of all the frizz and encourage my hair to curl. Although it's still not massively curly because of my hair naturally, it definitely looks a lot neater and the curls are more defined with this.

The other major plus to this product is that it smells amazing. When I went to the hairdresser a few weeks ago both my hairdresser and the girl who washed my hair asked me what it was and said it smelled gorgeous. It's definitely the jasmine scent that stands out which means it works really well with the Godiva Solid Shampoo bar (which also has conditioner in it).

I really can't recommend this enough. It's definitely a staple for me from now on and is perfect for those of us who are trying to resist using heat on our hair to keep it healthy (or if you're just a little lazy like me).

Have you tried R&B or any of Lush's other hair treatments? Let me know what you thought in the comments!

Creamy Candy Bubble Bar from Lush

This is quite a bold statement to make, but I'm going to just put it out there. I think this may be my favourite scent from Lush. If not top, definitely in the top 5 (we all know how indecisive I am).

I've been picking this up and smelling it every time I've been in Lush in the last few weeks (that is more times than is probably healthy, especially for my bank balance) and it just smells gorgeous. It has a very sweet scent that is definitely not for everyone, but it is perfect for me.

A slight down side is that I did find you don't get anywhere near as many bubbles from this as you do from the likes of The Comforter and the bath water doesn't really change colour. That being said, the smell is 100% worth it in my opinion. Even just having it in my room was lovely, every time I walked past it I noticed how beautiful it smelled.

Despite not having enough bubbles to build a bubble mountain, there were still a good few there and they lasted a fairly long time, although again, not as long as The Comforter. As this is one of the smaller bubble bars, I break it into 2 and get 2 baths from it but you can use the whole thing in one go if you want a particularly bubbly bath.

I love the smell of this so much I went out and bought another one once I'd used half and I think it's going to be a default buy every time I run out of it!

Have you tried Creamy Candy? What did you think of it?

Ultrabland Facial Cleanser from Lush

Lush describe this as one of their 'cult products' and on the packaging it says it's 'the Lush founders' No 1 Desert Island Product' which, naturally, meant I had high expectations, but boy, did they deliver.

I came across this product while in store chatting to one of the lovely employees about face masks as she tested some of the back of my hand and she asked if I'd tried it. She tested it on the back of my hand and then gave me a sample pot and I think it's very telling that I went back to buy it about a week later. I also think it's telling that when I bought it, almost every single employee in the shop couldn't help but say 'is that Ultrabland? Oh my goodness I love it so much, you'll love it!'.

So what is Ultrabland? It's a very easy way of taking your make up off and cleansing your skin that is perfect if you're quite lazy with your skin (like me) but like to pretend you're not (like me). You get some of the product and put it all over your face, including eyes - this stuff even gets off water proof mascarra, and then wipe it off with a warm, damp cotton pad or flannel. It really is that simple.

I have quite dry skin and this is one of the only products I've ever found that doesn't leave my skin feeling tight after I've used it. Every night I notice how soft my skin feels when I take my make up off and there is no doubt in my mind it's all down to this bad boy. If I'm having a particularly lazy night I don't bother using anything other than this product, although I do usually use a bit of moisturiser afterwards just because I want to minimise how dry my skin is.

Another thing the packaging on this says is that if you have particularly problem skin, using nothing but Ultrabland for a month will sort it right out. I've not tried that but from my experience of the product I would not be surprised.

I can definitely see why this is a 'cult product' and it deserves all of the attention it gets. I think I might find it difficult to use a different make up remover ever again! Luckily this stuff isn't too expensive (£6.95 for 45g or £10.95 for 100g) and lasts for ages! The girls at Lush told me this product stays fresh for about 14 months and I honestly think it might take me that long to get through it!

Have you tried Ultrabland? Let me know what you thought in the comments! If you're in Lush any time soon don't be afraid to ask for a sample of this so you can see for yourself how fab it is!

The Comforter Bubble Bar from Lush

As the name suggests, it would appear that this product is the comfort blanket for most 'lushies' out there, including myself. I remember trying it years ago (I mean many years, we're talking pre-teen years) and when I went to Lush for the first time in years a few months ago it was the product I gravitated towards.

There are so many reasons I love this product but I'll try and limit this post to just a few. First off, the smell. I'm completely hopeless at describing smells and you can read on the Lush website (link at the bottom of the post) what is in it and get a rough idea from that but just trust me on this one, it smells amazing.

Another reason I love this product is because it not only produces bubbles, and lots of them, but the it also turns the bath water pink. Who doesn't love pink bath water? The bubbles are super long lasting on this one too. I don't think I've ever been sat in the bath and all the bubbles have disappeared, no matter how long I spend reading!

One of the biggest reasons I love this though is definitely that it is by far the best value for money when it comes to bubble bars from Lush. I know what you're thinking, Blue Skies and Fluffy White Clouds and Brightside are exactly the same size and shape as The Comforter, meaning they're the same value for money but in my opinion, this one smells far nicer meaning it's way more worth the £4.50.

The Comforter doesn't need to be used all in one go and typically I manage to get somewhere between 4 and 6 baths out of each. Definitely worth £4.50!

Do you love The Comforter? Have you got any suggestions for bath products for me based on my love of this one? Let me know in the comments!

(this is the same one as in the photo but as Lush products are all hand made and natural they often look a little different! They all smell and work the same)
